Honoring Penny Longo:

A Legacy of Love & Learning

About Penny

In the heart of every child whose life she touched, Penny Longo remains a beacon of kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to education. For nearly three decades, Penny devoted herself to nurturing the minds and hearts of pre-k and kindergarten students in the Buffalo Public School System, with her final 15 years at PS School 30, Frank A. Sedita. Her legacy, however, extends far beyond the classroom walls—it's woven into the fabric of the community she loved and the educational foundations she helped strengthen.

Penny's battle with lung cancer ended on May 13th, 2017, but her spirit and passion for teaching have not diminished. Instead, they live on through the Penny Longo Memorial Fund, established to honor a life rich in love, learning, and the laughter of children. This fund represents more than just financial assistance; it's a testament to Penny’s extraordinary impact on everyone she encountered. She wasn't merely an educator; she was a mentor, a friend, and a guiding light to her students, colleagues, and loved ones.

A Foundation Built on Compassion and Excellence

Penny believed in the power of education and the potential of every child. Her approach was grounded in compassion, patience, and an incredible ability to inspire those around her. Through the Penny Longo Memorial Fund, we aim to continue her mission by directly supporting the schools and students Penny held dear to her heart. Every dollar raised goes back to enhancing educational experiences, providing resources, and creating opportunities for children to grow, learn, and thrive.
